For the past few weeks, my English 9 students have been hard at work, brainstorming, drafting, conferencing, and critiquing their This I Believe essays. The results were so encouraging that we decided to take the assignment one step further by recording and podcasting our pieces. Though the recording process has been difficult, the idea of publishing our work on the Internet for a real audience has made a profound difference in the overall quality of the writing. Enjoy! A quick note on paragraphing--Due to limitations on Wikispaces, formatting our paragraphs has proved to be problematic. For some reason, indentation has proven to be impossible. We have tried everything and resorted to double spacing our paragraphs to hold their place.
